If you’re thinking about counselling but aren’t sure what to expect, you’re in the right place.
Here are some quick answers to common questions we hear ...
Counselling is a safe, confidential space where you can talk openly about what’s on your mind — without judgement or pressure.
It’s about helping you make sense of things, manage difficult feelings, and find a way forward at your own pace.
If you’re feeling anxious, low, overwhelmed, stuck, or simply not like yourself — counselling could help.
You don’t need a formal diagnosis or a major crisis. You just need a feeling that you’re ready for some support.
It’s completely normal to feel unsure. Sometimes it’s not the right counsellor, the right approach, or even the right time.
Most clients meet weekly, but it’s flexible.
You and your counsellor will agree on a rhythm that feels right for you — whether that’s weekly, fortnightly, or something else.
Each session lasts 50 minutes.
We offer a person-centred approach to counselling — meaning the focus is on you, not a rigid method or one-size-fits-all approach.
Our counsellors are qualified, insured, registered with a professional body, and they work flexibly based on what will help you most.
We offer both depending on your location!
At present, if you’re based in Buckinghamshire, parts of Berkshire, or parts of Oxfordshire, we can usually offer in-person sessions.
Otherwise, you can meet online from anywhere in the UK.
You don’t need to prepare anything or have a perfect story.
Your counsellor will help you feel comfortable, and you can start wherever feels easiest.
Sometimes the hardest part is just showing up — and that’s more than enough.
We charge session-by-session, with no long-term contracts, minimum commitments, or hidden fees.
We’ll talk everything through during your consultation — and there’s no pressure to continue if it doesn’t feel right for you.
